The WordPress Portsmouth meetup, also known as WordUp Pompey, is a free monthly meetup and community for WordPress users, enthusiasts and experts in the city on the south coast of England and surrounding areas.
In our face to face meetings, we often had attendees from more than four regional counties. Since we moved to a virtual format in March 2020, we regularly welcome attendees and speakers from further afield and often have WordPressers from 10 different countries. We have helped the Make WordPress teams on research, encouraging testing, promoting releases and supported WordCamp Europe in its contributor experience for 2021.
The Meetup is organised by Herb Miller, Abha Thakor, Drew Westcott, and Scott McKeown, with support from local and international WordPress sponsors. As a meetup, we are delighted to be supporting WordFest Live in 2021 and its focus on wellbeing.

We are exploring blocks and the range of linked features, Full Site Editing, Gutenberg, security, hosting and software updating tips, content, SEO, and much more. We run workshops and hold informal sessions where attendees can get help to problem-solve their sites.
WordPress meetups are for everyone with an interest in the platform and its community. All are welcome.
We aim to be as inclusive as possible, and offer a range of events for different skill levels, spanning from complete beginner to super advanced. Events and the Slack group are great opportunities to chat to developers, business owners, marketers, designers, freelancers, project managers and lots of other people, just like you, who use (or want to use) WordPress.
